My Story
“Most people laugh at what they’re afraid to admit. That’s where we begin.”
Hi, I’m Robert — therapist, former stand-up comedian, and father of five.
Before I became a therapist, I spent over a decade making people laugh on stage and screen as a professional stand-up comedian and actor. These days, I still use humor—just with a little more intention and a lot more paperwork.
I help people untangle the mess of modern life: anxiety, depression, parenting chaos, relationship struggles, aging, addiction, big feelings, and everything in between. Whether you're 8 or 80, I offer therapy that’s practical, honest, and grounded in evidence-based approaches like CBT, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
I earned my BA in Communication from Stanford and my Master’s in Social Work from UT Arlington. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LCSW-S), a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and licensed in both Texas and Minnesota. I’ve worked in psychiatric emergency rooms, with Child Protective Services, and as a school-based clinician—and I currently oversee one of the mental health clinics for a large school district.
Therapy with me isn’t about judgment or jargon. It’s a collaborative, supportive process where we’ll tackle real-life challenges with empathy, curiosity, and the occasional well-timed joke.
When I’m not in session, I’m navigating the wild adventure of raising five young kids and three dogs with my wife of 10+ years—so yes, I get chaos. And I know the power of connection, humor, and healing.
If you're ready for honest, down-to-earth therapy that meets you where you are, and possibly some dad jokes…I’d be honored to walk that path with you.
