AZELIE BUCHANAN

If you or your teen feels overwhelmed by emotions, stuck in patterns of self-harm, or exhausted from thoughts of suicide, you don't have to navigate it alone. I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space where you can be honest about what you're experiencing without fear of being misunderstood or defined by your struggles.

I specialize in working with teens and young adults experiencing chronic suicidal thoughts, self-harm, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, and difficulty navigating intense emotions and relationships. My approach is rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with an emphasis on building practical coping skills and increasing emotional awareness. You deserve to know how to help yourself when the walls feel like they’re closing in on you.

I also believe that supporting a young person means supporting the people who love them. I work with parents and caregivers who want to better understand their child's emotional needs while also helping them recognize the importance of their own mental health. You cannot pour from an empty cup! Modeling healthy coping, boundaries, and self-compassion can be one of the most meaningful things a parent can offer their child.

I also have a special interest in supporting women during pregnancy and postpartum.

Becoming a mother can bring profound joy while also bringing anxiety, identity changes, loneliness, and overwhelming expectations. As a single mother myself, I understand that motherhood does not always look the way we imagined it would. Mothers deserve a space where they can be supported and seen as individuals, not just caregivers.
