HEATHER ISBELL

Life is messy. Families are complicated. Being a human is hard. You don’t have to figure it all out alone.

I’m a mental health professional who believes therapy should feel like a place where you can take a breath, be yourself, laugh when you need to, cry when you need to, and maybe say the thing you’ve been thinking but haven’t been able to say out loud.

My approach is shaped by both my professional experience and my own lived experiences.I understand that life doesn’t always look like the picture-perfect version we imagined. Families change, relationships evolve, identities grow, babies arrive, kids become teenagers overnight (or at least it feels that way!), and sometimes we find ourselves asking, “Okay…what now?” Those experiences have helped me develop a deep appreciation for meeting people exactly where they are—with compassion, curiosity, and absolutely no judgment.

I love working with kids and teens ages 12–17 and believe they deserve a space that feels like their space—not another place where adults tell them what they should be doing. I work to build genuine connection and trust while helping young people navigate emotions, friendships, family changes, identity, school stress, confidence, and all the wonderfully awkward parts of growing up. Sometimes therapy is deep conversation; sometimes it’s humor, creativity, or figuring out how to survive the week. Connection comes first.

I also enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients, blended families, second parents, young adults, and postpartum clients. I’m particularly passionate about supporting people whose lives or families don’t fit neatly into a traditional box—and helping them feel seen, understood, and supported exactly as they are.

Whether you’re a teenager trying to make sense of who you are, a young adult figuring out adulthood, a parent trying to navigate a blended family, a second parent finding your place, or a new parent wondering why everyone forgot to mention just how overwhelming postpartum life can be—I’m here to help you sort through the chaos.

My style is warm, authentic, affirming, collaborative, and sprinkled with humor. I’ll bring professional knowledge to the room, but I’ll also bring my whole human self. I don’t believe you need a perfect story, a perfect family, or a perfectly put-together version of yourself to start therapy.

You just have to show up. We’ll figure out the rest together.
