LATAWNA PIERCE

Life can change quickly. Loss, relationship difficulties, health concerns, work stress, family responsibilities, or simply trying to hold everything together can leave you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, depressed, or emotionally exhausted. You may know that something needs to change but not know where to begin. Therapy can be a place to sort through those feelings without judgment and find a way forward that feels manageable.

I’m Latawna Pierce, a Licensed Master Social Worker, and I enjoy helping adults and adolescents navigate the difficult seasons of life. I believe people often have more strength and resilience than they recognize, especially when they have spent so much time simply trying to get through the day. My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to help you better understand what you are experiencing, identify what may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical tools that fit you and your circumstances.

My professional journey has allowed me to work alongside people facing many different kinds of challenges—from mental health concerns and involvement with complex systems to grief, major transitions, and serious medical conditions. Those experiences have taught me that there is rarely just one part of a person's life affecting how they feel. Our relationships, health, past experiences, responsibilities, losses, and environment can all influence our emotional well-being.

In therapy, I bring a supportive, down-to-earth, and collaborative approach. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and grief counseling. More importantly, we will work together to determine what is actually helpful for you.
You do not have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Maybe you are grieving a loss, struggling with anxiety or depression, adjusting to a major change, or simply tired of carrying everything on your own. Wherever you are starting from, we can begin there.
My goal is for you to leave therapy not only feeling heard, but also better equipped to handle what comes next.
