LEE GARCIA

I am a bilingual, Spanish-speaking therapist passionate about working with preteens, teens, and young adults, particularly those who identify as LGBTQIA+. Growing up and figuring out who you are can already feel overwhelming. When questions about identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, family expectations, and cultural norms are added to the mix, it can feel even more complicated. My goal is to create a space where you can explore those experiences without feeling like you have to figure everything out on your own.

As a first-generation LGBTQIA+ Latina, I understand the complicated emotions that can come with wanting to live authentically while also feeling pressure to meet cultural, family, or societal expectations. Breaking generational cycles isn’t easy. It can leave you feeling stuck between who others expect you to be and who you are becoming. I believe your culture, identity, family, and lived experiences are important parts of your story—and they deserve to be understood, not judged.

Throughout my career, I have supported children, teens, young adults, and single mothers experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self-esteem, life transitions, and other challenges affecting their emotional well-being. I also have more than eight years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, which has deepened my understanding of how instability, limited support, and systemic barriers can affect mental health.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, solution-focused, and trauma-informed. I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role isn’t to tell you who you should be, but to help you better understand yourself and determine where you want to go next. Together, we can strengthen coping and communication skills, explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build confidence in your identity, and work toward changes that feel meaningful to you.
In our sessions, you can come as you are. Angry, anxious, sad, confused, frustrated, hopeful—or unsure what you’re feeling at all. You don’t need the perfect words. Sometimes we’re carrying “feelings that have no words.” Therapy can be the place where we begin finding those words and understanding what those feelings are trying to tell us.

Therapy is available in English or Spanish, allowing you to express yourself in the language that feels most natural and comfortable to you. Most importantly, I want you to have a space where you feel safe being your authentic self.

You don’t have to have all the answers before starting therapy. If you’re feeling stuck in a cycle, trying to understand yourself, navigating family or cultural expectations, or simply looking for a place where you can finally feel heard, we can start there.
Let’s talk.
