TIONNA BRAND
Caring for a child with autism, an intellectual or developmental disability, or other special needs can be incredibly rewarding—but it can also leave parents feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure of where to turn for support. Children and adolescents navigating their own emotional, behavioral, or developmental challenges also deserve a space where they feel understood rather than judged.
I am Tionna Brand, LMSW, a Licensed Master Social Worker with a Master of Social Work and a Master of Educational Leadership. I have five years of experience serving children, adolescents, adults, and families, with particular experience supporting underserved and vulnerable populations.
My professional background includes child welfare, special education, case management, crisis intervention, family advocacy, and disability services. I have experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), behavioral concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, school-related challenges, and major life transitions. I have also worked with youth experiencing homelessness and young people transitioning toward greater independence.
One of my areas of focus is supporting parents and caregivers of children with autism, IDD, disabilities, and other special needs. When so much of your time is spent advocating for your child, attending appointments, navigating school systems, managing challenging behaviors, and caring for your family, your own needs can easily get pushed aside. Therapy can be a space where the focus is finally on you.
Together, we can address caregiver stress and burnout, anxiety, feelings of guilt or isolation, family and relationship stress, boundary setting, self-care, and healthy coping strategies. My goal is to help caregivers find ways to care for themselves without feeling as though they are taking away from the people who depend on them.
I also enjoy working directly with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, client-centered, and strengths-based. I recognize that every client has different abilities, communication styles, experiences, and goals, and I tailor treatment to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
Whether you are a parent who has spent so much time caring for everyone else that you have forgotten to care for yourself, a young person struggling to find your place, or an adult navigating stress or a major life transition, I want therapy to be a place where you feel heard, respected, and supported.
You don't have to manage everything on your own. Together, we can identify your strengths, develop practical tools, and help you move toward a healthier and more manageable life.
